My Tracks

When I did my first marathon back in 2007 all I had to plan and track my walk distances was an Edinburgh A-Z and a peice of string and then a pedometer out on the walks. The pedoometer was unreliable, my stride length would change, it wouldn't pick up every step. It was hard.

4 years on, things have changed, I can use google maps to plan a rough route and then the fancy GPS and "My Tracks" App on my phone records my exact route, distance travelled, average and fastest speeds. It's fantastic.

Today was a lovely walk. The Boy needed to collect some papers from works I decided to accompany him. The sun was shining but there was a biting wind. Our walk home allowed a detour to real foods to pick up some delicious dairy free treats before strolling home.

Distance covered: 5.7 miles
Time: irrelevant due to a long while browsing real foods
Average moving speed: 3.5 miles, not bad for a stroll but needs improving
